Your mapping project’s capabilities
can be greatly expanded by adding public utility type, capacity, and
location information directly to your current map project.

By adding data layers to your existing mapping project utility
locations can be instantly, accurately located and identified. Your
initial incident size up will be more complete then ever before with
accurate utility information including pipe/wire sizes and
locations. Expose the unknown hazards which are inevitable with an
aging infrastructure.

Utility Layer Possibilities
 |
| |
Public Water Systems- Never had your hydrants flow rated? If
not adding a water system layer will aid in proper hydrant selection
during large fire related incidents. |
 |
| |
Underground Electrical Grid- Know where not to dig during
technical rescues as well as evaluate possible hazards should the
system be damaged in any way. |
 |
| |
Storm Sewer Systems- If something or someone goes in the
system you will know where it / they most likely came
out |
 |
| |
Natural Gas, Liquid Petroleum - Know where not to dig during
technical rescues as well as evaluate possible hazards should the
system be damaged in any way. Estimate the size of a spill or
release incident. Easily locate isolation valves if needed. |
 |
| |
Complete underground architecture - This type of project
displays all underground utilities, transit systems, and other man
made, or naturally accruing objects in a given area for the purpose
of evaluating catastrophic damage to multiple systems caused large
building collapses, natural disasters, or human factors. |

Please note: This data is typically guarded by the utility
companies due to Post 9/11 security concerns. The completed project
must be equally protected upon completion. A close working,
trusting, relationship among EPS, the emergency services provider
and the utility company must be brokered and maintained in order to
create and maintain this type of project
